You are an Army of two, prepare for war against the world while constantly striving for peace.

While this is somewhat hyperbolic it delivers a very important point, in some ways going to war is a very true statement.  You both are coming together, with shared values, to bring new life into this world in hopes of making the world a better place, the world is both amazing and horrifying.  In order to do the best job in your relationship and in parenting you must be willing to go to war while always striving for peace. Be willing to stand with your partner as they wage war, support them and give them sage advice as they will need it before and after each battle. War will either be waged on you or you will wage war, be the one to wage the war as the aggressor usually wins.
